Community Progress Council welcomes Kim Soderberg as Director of Community Relations
York, Pennsylvania – May 18, 2026
Community Progress Council is pleased to announce the hiring of Kim Soderberg as its new Director of Community Relations, a leadership role focused on strengthening community partnerships and securing the resources needed to sustain and grow Community Progress Council’s life-changing programs.
Soderberg brings a strong background in nonprofit development, grant writing, and community engagement. Most recently, she served as Development Manager for the Appell Center for the Performing Arts, where she led a nearly 1,000-member donor program and served as the organization’s primary grant writer. She also spearheaded major fundraising campaigns, including Give Local York, and led strategic donor cultivation and innovative engagement efforts.
In her new role, Soderberg will lead Community Progress Council’s grant strategy, identify and pursue new funding opportunities based on program outcomes, and collaborate across departments to strengthen community relationships and expand awareness of CPC’s impact. She will also play a central role in advancing resource development efforts, supporting community outreach initiatives, and helping ensure the long-term sustainability of CPC’s programs.
“Kim’s strategic mindset and her passion for connecting people to purpose make her an exceptional addition to our leadership team,” said Tom O’Connor, Chief Development Officer at Community Progress Council. “Her ability to identify new opportunities for support will help ensure our programs continue to thrive and expand, reaching more individuals and families across York County.”
Soderberg is also deeply involved in the community, currently serving as a board member of the Confronting Racism Coalition, a council member for the Women’s Business Center Organization, and as a Downtown Inc. Ambassador. Known as a connector and collaborator, she is committed to building inclusive partnerships that strengthen the community.
